We’re Hiring: 1 Solicitor & 2 Trainee Solicitor Vacancies in Merseyside

DPP Law in Merseyside is hiring! We have the following vacancies available:

1 Solicitor – Merseyside

The successful candidate must have a desire to provide privately funded and legally aided Criminal Defence advice, assistance and representation.

We welcome applicants who have Duty Solicitor status and Higher Rights of Audience, but if those qualifications are not met, we will support the successful candidate to become a Duty Solicitor as soon as possible and achieve Higher Rights of Audience. The successful candidate will take their place on the firms out of hours rota to provide emergency advice.

2 Trainee Solicitors – Merseyside

The successful candidates must have a desire to provide privately funded and legally aided Criminal Defence advice, assistance and representation. There will also be an opportunity to gain experience in Children Act family matters and Actions Against the Police.

We welcome applicants who have completed the Legal Practice Course, or are close to completing the Legal Practice Course, and will be able to commence employment as soon as possible.

It would be preferable for applicants to already hold the Police Station Accreditation qualification. Experience to count against the two-year training period would also be helpful, as would experience of a Crown Court caseload.

If the successful candidates do not hold the accreditation, then they will immediately be assisted to secure this to begin to advise suspects in police interview. The successful candidates will take their place on the firms out of hours rota to provide emergency advice.

We will consider applications from existing trainee solicitors who are looking to transfer their training contract to DPP Law.

We aim to retain trainees beyond the end of their training contract and support them to become Duty Solicitors and develop potential as Higher Court Advocates.
