David Norman qualified as a Solicitor in 1984 and is now Senior Partner of David Phillips and Partners. In addition to his management duties, David works regularly within the Crime Department. He is a Duty Solicitor and represents clients in Police Stations and Magistrates Courts. He is also a Solicitor-Advocate (Higher Courts Criminal) which enables him to appear on behalf of clients in all Crown Court matters.
David has been a Peer Reviewer for the Legal Services Commission and therefore has detailed knowledge of the Quality Standards of the Legal Services Commission who moniter the quality of legal advice of all firms who provide Publicly Funded services throughout England and Wales.
David was appointed in 2004 as a member of the Legal Services Commission's Specialist Fraud Panel which is an elite body that enables members to carry out defence work of major criminal casee which are deemed to be long and complex and known as VHCCs - Very High Cost Cases.
David has specialist knowledge of all general criminal matters including cases involving white collar fraud with particular expertise in respect of Mortgage Frauds, H M Revenue and Customs prosecution, benefit fraud, and Election Fraud.
