Don't trust your case with anyone else

We know that you have lots of choice about who to ask to deal with your legal matter. How do you know who to turn to for help?

One way is to ensure that you only instruct a solicitors firm direct, avoiding any middlemen. As solicitors, w'e're regulated by the Solicitors' Regulation Authority who ensure the highest standards which the public expect from solicitors are met. In order to meet these standards we are required to undergo many years of study and on the job training, our firm is audited by the SRA to ensure compliance with the solicitors' rules, and we are required to undergo continuing training and development throughout our legal careers. You can read more about us on the Law Society's website.

Experts in our fields

Solicitors who reach a very high standard of skill and experience can ask to be appointed to the SRA's accreditation panels. Membership of the panels is not a foregone conclusion, as appications are individually and anonymously assessed by the SRA, and renewed only if the solicitors can prove that they have the necessary skills and experience. This ensures that only the best solicitors in their particular fields get to be appointed to the panels.

Personal Injury (accident claims)

At David Phillips and Partners, we're proud to say that all of our personal injury partners are panel members, ensuring that if you have an accident claim, you're in safe hands. Their enhanced skills have also been recognised by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, who have awarded them 'litigator' status.

Criminal Defence

Our criminal defence services are also second to none. We have a nationwide network of Higher Court advocates which allows us to provide a complete service to our clients, from first hearing to appeals in the Court of Appeal or House of Lords.

Our criminal defence solicitors are specialists in fraud matters. A number of our lawyers have been appointed to the Legal Services Commission's Specialist Fraud Panel. Our firm is one of the few in England and Wales which can run very high cost criminal fraud cases. We have more experience in these cases than anyone else, having been selected by the LSC to run the first case during the pilot scheme. We accept referrals from other firms, and instructions direct.

We also have a number of accredited police station representatives, who have been assessed by the SRA and proven their competence to advise clients and conduct interviews.

Matters involving children

Our Children department exclusively deals with matters involving children, often in the Court of Protection. This specialist approach ensures that we can provide the best possible service to those involved. Again, as you would expect from a firm such as ours, the team is headed by an experienced solicitor with panel membership.

Conveyancing

Our conveyancing department is rightly regarded as one of the best and most efficient in the country. Read just a few of the testimonials we receive regularly here. In order to maintain this high standard, we ensure that the best staff are employed, and accredited by the appropriate organisation. We have licensed conveyancers working alongside solicitors and members of the Institute of Legal Executives to ensure that the service you receive exceeds your expectations. We are also founder members of the North West Solicitors Association, an innovative group of local solicitors committed to providing the best service possible to buyers and sellers in residential conveyancing transactions. Between us we have developed new ways of working which have saved our clients time, money and stress.
