Criminal Defence in an election fraud case resulting in acquittal: R-v-L

L instructed David Phillips and Partners solicitors to defend him in an election fraud. We travelled to New York and Israel on his behalf to build his defence, resulting in a not guilty verdict.

L was investigated by Special Branch following the fall of a labour controlled local council in London. The election fraud was alleged to have involved members of the Liberal Democrat and Conservative parties.

L’s criminal defence lawyers investigated thoroughly, ploughing through vast quantities of evidence. We also recognised that crucial witnesses were abroad so travelled to New York and Israel to interview them.

Ultimately, thanks in part to the work done by David Phillips and Partners’ criminal solicitors, L was acquitted.
