Justice For Assault Victim

Bradford man successfully claims for police assault, unlawful arrest and false imprisonment

It’s easy to think that the odds are stacked against you when suing the police. Our actions against the police case studies have proved it is possible to receive the compensation you deserve.

Mr AG, a 39-year-old father of two from Bradford, is just one of many clients to successfully claim for a substantial sum after suffering an assault and unlawful arrest by the police.

Suing the police – how we helped Mr. G’s actions against the police claim

Mr. G’s assault, unlawful arrest and later false imprisonment took place on October 17th 2007.

Our client was assisting two WPC’s tending to a woman’s son, after he became distressed following a warrant issued against his mother.

After police backup arrived to the scene, Mr. G was mistaken for an antagonist despite doing his best to assist the police in carrying out their duty.

He was later removed from the house with aggressive force, arrested and taken to Bradford Police Station. Clearly shook up by the incident, Mr G was detained without his rights being  read.

Mr. G’s claim against the police was rejected, he later contacted DPP Law for further help

In 2009, Mr G contacted our expert team of actions against the police solicitors for assistance in fighting his case. We took up Mr G’s fight for justice.

Despite numerous denials by West Yorkshire Police, who refused to accept liability for any wrongdoing, we were able to settle his claim for £15,000 and a formal apology was tendered.

If you feel the police have mistreated you in any way, seek legal assistance immediately. You’ll find more information in our actions against the police information guide.

You’ll find more examples of past clients we’ve helped in our actions against the police case studies. Our action against police solicitors could help you receive the compensation you deserve.
